The Zero Waste Academy, organized by GAIA/BFFP Africa, is a capacity-building program, with its roots stemming from the Asia Pacific region, aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to implement zero waste solutions in their communities.
This academy serves as a training platform for climate advocates, practitioners, and policymakers who wish to enhance their understanding of waste management and methane abatement.
Participants will learn best practices and develop actionable strategies for waste reduction and sustainability.
The academy will cover a variety of topics, including movement building for climate action, waste picker integration, waste characterization, composting, and how to develop effective waste collection strategies.
This platform is designed for a diverse group of participants, including practitioners, civil society organisations, municipal environmental officers, and public and private institutions interested in methane abatement strategies in solid waste management.
